Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra could finally get satellite connectivity

0

Back in 2022, Apple introduced satellite connectivity to the iPhone 14 and it has been in all of Apple’s iPhones ever since. There have been some Android handset makers who have introduced something similar, but Samsung has been missing from that list. The good news is that could change soon with the Galaxy S25 Ultra which could come with satellite connectivity.

This is according to a post on X by Ice Universe where they have spotted the handset being listed on China’s Quality Certification Centre. According to the listing, it mentions that the device has a “satellite mobile terminal”. While the Galaxy S25 Ultra was not named explicitly, based on the model number, there is a good chance this could be the device.

That being said, satellite connectivity isn’t exactly a groundbreaking feature. In fact, chances are most of us might never need to resort to it, which is a good thing. Apple had initially designed and included the feature for emergency purposes. Such as when you’re out of cellular coverage but still need to get in touch with someone for help.

It will be useful for those situations, don’t get us wrong, but we doubt it will be a make or break feature for most. We’ve already started to see some leaks of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The handset will only be announced in the early part of 2025, so there’s still a bit of waiting we’ll have to do.
