Samsung Galaxy S25 could be a pure Qualcomm affair

0

For years, Samsung has practiced using both Qualcomm and Exynos chipsets in their flagship phones. This annoyed customers who felt that the Exynos variant wasn’t as good, but yet they paid the same price as Qualcomm customers. This could change with the upcoming Galaxy S25 which is expected to all-in with Qualcomm.

According to a report from the Korean media, it seems that Samsung has decided that they will use Qualcomm chipsets for its Galaxy S25 series across all markets. The handsets are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which is expected to be announced later this year.

But what about the rumored Exynos 2500? Surely Samsung wouldn’t waste its development, right? The somewhat bad news is that Samsung still has plans for the chipset. The report claims that instead of putting it in their flagships, Samsung might end up using it for its next-gen foldables. Yikes.

Samsung’s foldables aren’t cheap to begin with, so to make the switch to Exynos could alienate customers who aren’t a fan. That being said, we don’t know how the Exynos 2500 will perform. Samsung could surprise us all, but until then, we are skeptical. Take it with a grain of salt, but we should have the details early next year.
