Google Play Store finally supports updating multiple apps at the same time

0

If you own a smartphone, chances are you probably have a ton of apps on it. This means that updating all those apps can be quite a long and drawn out procedure. This is because the way the Google Play Store is designed, it can only download one update at a time instead of multiple updates.

The good news is that is changing. According to a report from 9to5Google, it seems that a number of users are noticing that the Play Store now supports multiple app updates at the same time. However, it should be noted that the limit when it comes to multiple updates is set at three. We’re not sure if there are plans to increase that in the future.

For context, prior to this change, the Play Store could only download and install one update at a time. This means that if you have 20 apps that have updates waiting, this could take a while. Prior to this, Google started to introduce support for multiple app downloads, but that only applied to new apps.

With this change, it seems that it will affect existing apps and updates as well, which is a good thing. It is unclear how widespread this change is, but based on the report, it looks like quite a number of users are already seeing this change. So keep your eyes peeled if this is something you think you might be able to take advantage of!
