Recently, Huawei seemingly confirmed that their triple-screen foldable phone could launch next month. But it seems that they’re not alone. In a post on Weibo by Oppo’s Product Manager, Zhou Yibao, it seems that Oppo could be working on a triple-screen foldable phone of their own.
The post showed what appeared to be a render of a concept of a triple-screen foldable. The post was later deleted, which seems to suggest that Zhou might have posted it earlier than expected or it was never meant to be posted at all. However, given that this is just a render, it could only be a concept device and not an actual product Oppo is working on.
That being said, we wouldn’t be surprised if it is something the company is developing. Aside from Huawei, Xiaomi is also reported to be interested in the form factor. The most recent report suggests that the company could launch the device in 2025. It is interesting to see a surge of interest in the triple-screen form factor.
We do see the benefits of such a design, however. Usually dual screen foldables have a weird aspect ratio that isn’t quite like a tablet. A triple-screen phone could easily solve that issue. Either way, we’ll have to wait and see if Oppo eventually announces something or if nothing comes from this post.
