When you upload a photo to Instagram, you have the option of adding a caption. This is all well and good, but what if you wanted to add text to your Instagram photos itself? That would require editing the photo first before uploading, or at least that was the case before Instagram introduced some new features.
According to a post on the Instagram blog, the company is now allowing users to directly add text to their photos before they’re uploaded. This could be useful for brands who might want to create an eye-catching post with text embedded directly into the photos itself. It would also save people time from having to edit it using a separate app first.
It is admittedly kind of a novel and simple feature, but at the same time, we have to wonder what took Instagram this long. After all, users could already add things like text, emojis, and tags directly in Instagram Stories. So introducing the feature to regular posts seemed like a no-brainer. But better late than never, we suppose.
The update also introduces some new features to Instagram Reels and Stories. There are new fonts, effects, and animations that users can choose from to help make it stand out from other posts.
