Xiaomi could launch a button-less phone next year

0

Some of you might remember that back in 2023, there were rumors that Apple could launch a button-less iPhone. That never came to pass, but now it seems that Xiaomi could pick up where Apple left off with a button-less phone of their own.

According to tipster chunvn8888 in collaboration with Smartprix, there are rumors that in 2025, Xiaomi could launch their very own button-less phone. But wait, how will users control things like the volume, turning the phone on or off, locking the screen, and more? According to the report, this is achieved using gestures, pressure-sensitive edges, and voice commands.

The handset is also said to utilize an under camera display, which means that this rumored Xiaomi handset will be pretty much all display only. We imagine that this will result in a very sleek looking device without any buttons sticking out of the sides. It will be interesting to see if the lack of buttons will make the device harder to use.

What’s interesting is that despite the rumors of Apple going button-free, the company’s current iPhone 15 and the upcoming iPhone 16 are actually adding more buttons. The iPhone 15 saw the introduction of the Action Button. The iPhone 16 is also rumored to gain a new physical camera shutter button too.
