It’s been quite some time now since the debut of the Xiaomi SU7, the first-ever electric car from the Chinese company (who’s more known for its smartphones). Earlier on, Xiaomi stated that it wanted to sell 100,000 SU7 units by the end of this year, although the company has since updated this numner.
Xiaomi now aims to sell 120,000 SU7 units by the end of 2024, and is confident that it can reach its original goal by November. Not too long ago, the company also announced that its planned factory upgrade has already been completed, which would ideally allow it to reach its new goal within the year.
Xiaomi’s first-ever EV has certainly become one of the most talked-about electric cars this year, as it represents a first for the company which is more known for its consumer electronic products. The Xiaomi SU7 was launched back in March, and starts at around $29,800 for the standard model.
Recent figures indicate that the SU7 amounted to around $868,000,000 in revenue in the second quarter of this year, with a gross margin of 15.4%. Back in June, the company had also opened 87 EV stores in 30 cities across China.
