Since the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, Samsung has kept the display size of its Ultra phones at 6.8-inches. That could change next year with the Galaxy S25 Ultra. According to tipster Ice Universe, Samsung could bump up the screen size of the phone to 6.9-inches while introducing thinner bezels.
If this sounds familiar, it is because Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16 Pro Max is also rumored to introduce a display upgrade along with thinner bezels. Now, we know that there are other phones out there with 6.9-inch displays, but for Samsung to make this decision after Apple doesn’t really feel like a coincidence.
Both companies are known to be pretty close competitors in the smartphone space. Apple has also “borrowed” their fair share of features from other companies, such as Google, so it’s not really too surprising. One thing we should point out is that Samsung actually had a 6.9-inch display on the Galaxy S20 Ultra way before Apple did.
The company later made the decision to size it down to 6.8-inches for whatever reasons. If this rumor is true, the 6.9-inch screen could be making a comeback in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It’s too soon to tell so take it with a grain of salt.
