Pixel 9 makes transferring data from your old phone convenient

0

A lot of handset manufacturers include software features that make it easy for users to transfer data from an old phone to the new one. The only problem is that this needs to be done during the setup process, so if you opt not to do it then, you’d basically have to factory reset your phone to get it back. That isn’t the case with the Pixel 9 where Google is making it easier when it comes to transferring data.

According to a report from Android Authority, the Pixel 9 has a new feature that basically lets users transfer data from an old phone to the handset whenever they want. This feature can be found in the Pixel 9’s settings under “Back up or copy data”. Users can then select “Copy data” and it will basically copy the data from an old handset into your new Pixel 9.

This means that in the future, maybe you decide after the initial setup that you’d rather just use the data from your old phone. So instead of going through the entire setup process again, you can just use this “Copy data” feature on your Pixel 9. As the publication notes, this isn’t a new feature per se.

Other handset makers such as Samsung already have something similar called Smart Switch. However, it’s good to see that Google is including it in their own devices.
