You won’t be able to buy the Pixel 9 Pro Fold from AT&T

Google just announced its latest foldable smartphone, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. At a starting price of $1,799, it is nowhere close to being cheap. This is why buying it through a carrier on a contract will make it more affordable. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to buy the Pixel 9 Pro Fold through AT&T if that’s your carrier of choice.

AT&T has confirmed to the folks at CNET that they will not be offering the Pixel 9 Pro Fold to customers. This doesn’t mean that it won’t work on the network, it’s just that you won’t be able to buy it through them. This is kind of an odd decision, especially since the original Pixel Fold was offered by them.

It is unclear why AT&T has decided not to sell the phone. Perhaps sales of the original Pixel Fold weren’t as good as they thought and they’d rather not go through the hassle again. That being said, AT&T does plan to sell the other Pixel phones Google announced. This includes the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and the Pixel 9 Pro XL.

If you do want to buy the Pixel 9 Pro Fold through a carrier, maybe on an installment plan, not to worry. Other carriers such as Verizon and T-Mobile will be offering the handset, so you can look into them if you want.
