The Pixel Buds Pro 2 Pack some Much-welcome Features

It’s been quite some time now since the launch of the Pixel Buds Pro. Google has spent its time making incremental changes to its wireless earbuds, testing around to see which bits and pieces make for a decent listening experience. For example, the Pixel Buds Pro finally added ANC as well as new gesture controls, but ditched the wing design on the A series, and so on.

Which is why the new Pixel Buds Pro 2 are mostly seen as a proper upgrade by some, bringing a “Frankenstein” approach to Google’s flagship audio range. What do they come with? Let’s find out.

First up is the design – yes, the Buds Pro 2 look familiar to the 2022 model, but take a closer look and you’ll see some changes this time around. Google has once again incorporated a specially-designed stabilizer into the earbuds, which it refers to as the “twist-to-adjust stabilizer.” Users can adjust the earbuds’ fit by rotating the stabilizer accordingly. One thing that remains mostly the same however is the charging case, which resembles the one on the Pixel Buds A Series and Pixel Buds Pro.

Interestingly, Google has equipped the buds with what it refers to as the “Tensor A1” chip, indicating that the company is sticking with the Tensor branding for its hardware moving forward. The company adds that the chip was built for advanced audio processing and AI functionality, and is able to process audio 90 times faster than the speed of sound, in addition to twice the noise cancelling power and clearer voice calls.

Speaking of noise cancelling, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 also come with Google’s “Silent Seal 2.0,” which further helps filter out unwanted noise. Inside you’ll find 11mm drivers which are responsible for deep bass sounds and a new high-frequency chamber for smoother-sounding treble.

As for software, the earbuds come with staples such as spatial audio support and clear calling, as well as new additions such as Conversation Detection, which uses AI to pause music and enable transparency mode when the earbuds sense that you’re talking to someone. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 will also come with support for Google’s Find My Device network, which also lets users to ring the earbuds/case when locating them.
