Microsoft’s Paint 3D Might be Shutting Down Soon

0

Remember Microsoft 3D Paint? Several years ago, Microsoft’s launch of its new-at-the-time 3D modelling app put 3D Paint as its major replacement for the older Paint app, with a focus on giving users a more in-depth tool to work on their visual creations. However, recent reports claim that Microsoft might soon discontinue the app, based on some info online.

More specifically, tech informant @phantomofearth indicates that the Paint 3D app is now displaying a banner stating that it will stop receiving updates soon, and will be removed from Microsoft’s digital storefront on November 4 this year. With that being said however, Microsoft has not announced anything so far regarding this development.

Microsoft Paint 3D was launched back in 2017, and integrates several features of the original Paint as well as other 3D design software. While the older Microsoft Paint app was no longer included on Windows following Paint 3D’s launch, it is still available for download from the Microsoft Store. Microsoft eventually removed Paint 3D from Windows’ standard features, but could still be downloaded from the store.
