Samsung just showed off its brand new foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and it is a thick piece of equipment. It measures 12.1mm thick when closed, which is an improvement over its predecessor which measured 13.mm, but it can hardly be called thin. In fact, Honor doesn’t agree either with Samsung either.
The company has subtly thrown shade at the Fold 6 in an advertising image that you can see below. In case you didn’t know, Honor actually has the honor (pun intended) of having the thinnest foldable phone in the market today. The Honor Magic V2 is the world’s thinnest foldable measuring in at 9.9mm.
This is a good deal thinner than what Samsung has to offer, and Honor isn’t shy about it either. Of course, there are differences in terms of performance, design, and overall hardware. But if you want a thin foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 probably won’t be the best choice.
That being said, it is possible that Honor could lose its crown this year. According to the rumors, the upcoming Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 could steal the title. The rumors are claiming that the handset could end up beating the Honor Magic V2 by a hair. Either way, we’ll have to wait and see.
