Sonos Announces New App Updates

0

Sonos recently announced new updates for its app on Android and iOS, which come with some bug fixes as well as new features for added functionality. The update is now live for devices running Android 8.0 or later, iOS 16 or later, iPadOS 16 or later, and Fire OS 7 and higher.

The update comes with software version 80.04.05 for Android and 80.04.04 for iOS. As such, the update streamlines multi-product setup for professional installers using iOS devices, and accessibility is enhanced with better support for configuring alarms using VoiceOver and TalkBack on both platforms.

Meanwhile, Android users gain additional control over autoplay for analog line-in devices and SonosNet channel selection, and the update also introduces time zone settings for iOS as well as the ability to forget a Sonos system for easier connection to new systems, all on iOS devices. Android users benefit from improved notifications for player firmware updates, in addition to a fix that addresses crashes that occurred when launching the app.

Not too long ago, Sonos made a big comeback with the launch of the Sonos Ace Headphones, which are positioned to take on competing products like the Apple AirPods Max.
