The OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite Boasts Nice Specs, but with a Catch

0

OnePlus has once again expanded its Nord line with the launch of the Nord CE4, which packs some impressive hardware. The handset comes priced at around $380 (when converted), and is now available for pre-orders – with that said, it does pack some decent hardware, although not all that glitters is gold in the Nord CE4 Lite’s case.

Up front is a bright 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1080 × 2400 pixel resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, wrapped up in a sleek-looking design that manages to squeeze in a 5,110 mAh battery with 80W fast-charging support. There’s also a 50MP Sony LYT600 camera onboard with support for optical image stabilization, as well as 256GB of storage for all your media storage needs.

So what’s the catch? Well, OnePlus has decided to equip the phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset. It’s not a bad chip per se, but for this price there are better options, and the 695 is a pretty old chip at this point. This also means that video quality maxes out at a mere 1080p resolution, a limitation which is unfortunate to see in this day and age.

Of course, casual buyers just after a reliable day-to-day phone won’t have much issue with this, but OnePlus fans and more in-depth users will have to keep reservations in mind regarding the Nord CE4 Lite.
