The Motorola Edge 2024 Aims for the Midrange Throne

0

It’s safe to say that Motorola’s attempts at securing a top spot in worldwide smartphone marketshare are on a steady path, with the launch of several new models over the past months. With that in mind, the company announced the addition of a new midrange device under its Edge lineup, the Motorola Edge (2024).

Motorola has equipped the new Edge with a 6.6-inch P-OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution, which also features a curved-edge display similar to a lot of other midrange handsets out there. The display offers a peak brightness of 1,300 nits, and is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 3.

Inside, the phone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, along with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There’s also Android 14 for software, and powering the device is a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 68W fast charging. As for cameras, the Edge 2024 features a main 50MP sensor with OIS, a 13MP ultrawide-angle camera, and a 32MP front-facing camera. Both rear cameras can record 4K video at 30fps, while the front-facing camera is limited to 1080p at 60fps.

In terms of pricing, the Motorola Edge (2024) will be available in the US from June 20 at a price of $550 via Motorola’s official website, Amazon, Best Buy, as well as carriers like T-Mobile and MVNOs on Verizon and AT&T.
