April Fools! Sony Teases Fans with a “New” Xperia Model

0

With April 1st now upon us, it’s certainly a time to be vigilant of any and all posts that we see on the internet, applying an “ocular pat-down” of sorts when it comes to questionable news and such. The same of course applies to tech news, with manufacturers and brands engaging in a bit of light-hearted fun in the spirit of April Fool’s.

While some posts are designed to look and read as realistic as can be, others are obviously more in it for the fun – take Sony’s new Xperia announcement for example, which teases a new “small” smartphone model for fans.

Dubbed the “Xperia 5 V Micro,” the obviously fictitious phone is designed to be as small as possible, at least according to the poster, which even has faint “April Fools” text floating in the background. There’s even a fake product tagline that reads “small but mighty.”

In any case, it’s a bit of good fun on Sony’s part – especially since the brand is one of the few Android manufacturers remaining which still releases “small” smartphones, with ASUS ditching its sub-6-inch devices for larger handsets altogether.
