The Meizu 21 Pro is Finally Official

0

Following early reports that it will soon exit the smartphone industry, Meizu has announced what could very well be its last smartphone with the Meizu Pro 21, a flagship-tier Android phone. As such, the device does come with some impressive hardware, all at a price of $700 (when converted).

Inside the phone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, which powers just about every major Android flagship this year. The chip is backed by an Adreno 750 GOU and 12GB of RAM, although there’s a slightly more expensive variant with up to 16GB of RAM. The phone packs a triple-camera setup featuring a 50MP main sensor, a 10MP telephoto sensor, and a 13MP ultrawide sensor. In front is a 32MP camera for selfies and video calls.

In front is a 6.79-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1368 x 3192 pixel resolution, and it does get real bright at up to 1,250 nits of peak brightness. The phone runs on a 5,050 mAh battery, which supports charging speeds of up to 80W (wired) and 50W(wireless). This display is wrapped up in a rectangular chassis which does come with IP68 certification.

Meizu recently announced a shift in its company strategy towards the development of AI software for integration with potential future hardware – the change has apparently been in the works for a while now, with Xingji Meizu Group CEO Shen Ziyu stating last year that the company has evolved from a mere mobile phone brand to an “ecological group.”
