Samsung recently announced that it was adding a new Medication tracking feature to the Samsung Health app, providing users with a convenient way to make sure that they don’t miss out on their medication and supplements. The update will arrive for Samsung Health users in the US initially via a downloadable update.
With the new feature, the Medications tracking feature will be able to give users details and general information about meds or supplements that they are taking, and even lay out any possible side effects that might occur, such as when consuming certain foods and substances alongside any medication.
Samsung says that the app will be dependent on information entered by the user, including alarms and reminders that a user might wish to set with the app. For crucial medication, the app will flash a very noticeable reminder and ringtone on a user’s device, while a more subtle reminder will appear onscreen for vitamins and supplements. This notification system will also apply to any connected Galaxy Watch devices.
While there are third-party apps readily available with this kind of feature, having it integrated into the Samsung Health app is no doubt an added convenience, especially for Android users with Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets.
