Devialet Gemini II: True wireless earbuds that don’t sacrifice on sound and looks

0

The market is flooded with true wireless earbuds at the moment. There are so many different models to choose from it can feel overwhelming, where you have earbuds that are aimed at budget-conscious shoppers, earbuds for those who want something for the gym, and then there are earbuds for those who are more particular about the sound.

Now, Devialet is a company that some of you might be familiar with. The company’s Phantom series of speakers are pretty popular, not just because they look amazing, but also because they sound pretty damn good, especially for a single speaker that can somehow fill up an entire room and still have excellent sound staging qualities.

If you are a fan of the Phantom, then you might also want to check out the company’s Gemini II true wireless earbuds, which we’ll be diving into for the rest of the article.

Beautiful design

If there’s one thing that Devialet does well, it is with the design of their audio products. The company’s audio products are very uniquely designed. They don’t look like your typical speakers, and that design philosophy has carried down to the Gemini II where the casing and the earbuds themselves don’t look very generic.

They have a very luxurious and sleek look to them, which is perfect for those who care about aesthetics. As with most earbuds, the Gemini II comes with four different ear tip sizes ranging from XS up to L, so you should be able to find something that suits you. There is also a carrying case with a band wrapping around the exterior with the Devialet branding, and the earbuds themselves also match the color of the case.

Also, another thing to keep in mind is that while they might look luxurious, Devialet has actually designed the Gemini II earbuds with IPX4 protection. This means that it is both water and sweat resistant, so while you probably won’t be going swimming with them, they could be a great pair of earbuds to use while you’re outdoors running or at the gym and you won’t have to worry about sweat damaging them.

Noise-cancelling technology

If you plan to travel or if you want to enjoy your music and videos in peace, the Gemini II does come with Devialet’s Adaptive Noise Cancellation technology. What does this mean? While most noise cancellation technology relies on putting out an opposing frequency to cancel out frequencies from the outside, the experience may vary from user to user.

With the Gemini II, Devialet claims their noise cancelling technology works by dynamically adjusting to the shape of your ear. This will result in reduced audio artifacts and also white noise, which means that regardless of the shape of your ear, you should be able to experience the best possible noise cancellation.

Devialet also says that through the dynamic adjusting, it can actually improve on battery life because in some situations, maybe less noise cancellation is required, whereas other earbuds from other manufacturers may simply continuously pump out the same frequency regardless of the environment and the shape of your ear.

Great sound quality

Now obviously earbuds need to sound good. If sound is a high priority for you when it comes to earbuds, the Devialet Gemini II will not disappoint. The earbuds feature the use of 10mm Devialet titanium-coated drivers and support Qualcomm’s aptX codec, so even though they are wireless earbuds, they will still be able to deliver excellent sound quality.

The earbuds also have a frequency range of 5Hz – 20kHz, so it should have no issues delivering on the low-end as well as the high-end. There is Active Wind Reduction so that even in windy conditions, you will still be able to experience the best possible sound. This is achieved through the use of microphones embedded in each earbud that is then covered with anti-wind material.

If you’ve tried to listen to earbuds or headphones in a windy environment, sometimes the wind can be too strong and interfere with the sound. Using algorithms and the microphones, the Gemini II will be able to adjust and adapt to the sound of your surroundings.

Long-lasting battery

Another thing that the Devialet Gemini II earbuds have going for it is its battery life. According to the company, the earbuds boast a total of up to 22 hours of battery life, which is honestly pretty good. This means that if you’re a somewhat casual user who might listen to it for a few hours a day while at the gym or out on a run, you should be able to squeeze a week’s worth of battery.

It would also make it perfect for holidays where you’re traveling on the plane or in a bus or car, where the battery life should be more than sufficient to last you through your journey and commute. The earbuds also support Qi wireless charging so if you happen to have a wireless charging mat at home, you can use that to recharge the earbuds when not in use.

Pricing & availability

So, if you think that the Devialet Gemini II are a pair of true wireless earbuds that has everything you need in terms of looks, sound, and features, then you can head on over to Devialet’s website to place an order.

The earbuds are available in iconic white, matte black, or gold, and are priced starting at $449. We know that these are not a pair of cheap earbuds, but if you like the way Devialet tunes their audio products and their sound signature and also the luxurious design, it could be worth your consideration.
