It is expected that OnePlus still has one more device left to announce this year and that is the OnePlus Open, the company’s first attempt at a foldable phone. The handset was originally rumored for an August launch, but QC issues have delayed its launch, possibly to this month.
In case foldables aren’t your thing, not to worry because a report from MySmartPrice has revealed that OnePlus could be hosting an event in January 2024 that will see them announce a plethora of new devices and accessories. This is expected to come in the form of the OnePlus 12, the OnePlus 12R, the OnePlus Pad Go, and a new set of true wireless earbuds.
We have to admit that we are a little confused. This is because the rumors previously claimed that the OnePlus 12 could actually be announced in December. It is possible that the December announcement could be for certain markets such as China, and that the January 2024 announcement could be for the rest of the world.
We also did see some leaks of the OnePlus 12R, which based on its specs could be a “cheaper” version of the OnePlus 12. We say “cheaper” because it will run the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which is 2023’s flagship chipset, but the OnePlus 12 is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is presumably more expensive.
Either way, we’re still a fair bit away from January 2024 so take this with a grain of salt for now.
