While Samsung is busy promoting its newest wearable models – the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 series – the South Korean tech giant has not forgotten its older smartwatches. More specifically, Samsung recently launched the latest one UI Watch 5 platform update for the Galaxy Watch 4 series.
Initially launching for Galaxy Watch 4 owners in the United States, the new software update includes new software features, in addition to bug fixes and the July 2023 security patch. It also features version number R870XXU1HWH3 for the regular Watch 4 and R890XXU1HWH3 for the Watch 4 Classic model.
Samsung has included a ton of new features with One UI Watch 5, including on-wrist call volume adjustment controls, support for app folders, as well as added gesture controls. Fitness tracking features via Samsung Health have also been integrated, which includes automatic cycling activity tracking, personalized heart rate zones, as well as enhanced sleep coaching, to name a few.
Users can update their Galaxy Watch 4 by heading into the Samsung Wearable app, or by heading into the Watch’s Settings app itself and searching for the latest update. Users outside the US can expect the One UI Watch 5 update to make its way to more regions soon.
