Following the launch of its latest TicWatch Pro 5 model a while back, Mobvoi has teased a new color variant of its current Wear OS variable, by way of an online giveaway competition. Mobvoi announced the competition via its official social media page as well as its website.
Based on the wording used by Mobvoi, the new TicWatch Pro 5 model will feature a sandstone colorway, although it will most likely have the same internals and software available.
To join, participants must craft a watch face of their own (Mobvoi itself suggests using AI software) based on certain topics that the brand posts on its social media page. Users are then urged to post their work online with the hashtag “#WatchTheSands”, and then tag Mobvoi and two friends.
The winning entry will then be turned into an actual watch face, with the participant receiving the new model as a prize. The contest will run until August 15, 2023.
In our TicWatch Pro 5 review, we described the device as having a very impressive suite of hardware features including a sturdy design, refined controls and great battery life, although missing features such as Google Assistant do affect the overall Wear OS user experience.
