Wireless charging is a feature that is pretty common on smartphones these days, but yet there are still companies that have held out on including the tech in their phones, such as OnePlus, who have notoriously omitted the ability for their smartphones to charge using wireless methods.
The company launched its budget OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite earlier this year and as expected, there is no support for wireless charging. It is a bummer because other than the lack of wireless charging, it’s actually a pretty good device. Thankfully, adding wireless charging capabilities to the phone is pretty easy and relatively cheap, so if you’re keen on wireless charging for your OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite, here’s how.
What you will need
To give your OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite wireless charging, you will need a couple of accessories to start:
- A wireless charging adapter
- A wireless charger
Wireless charging adapter
Wireless charging adapters are basically the same tech you might find inside of a phone that has wireless charging support. The main difference is that now, this tech exists outside of the phone in the form of an adapter. All you have to do is plug it into the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite’s USB-C port and ta-da, your phone now supports wireless charging!
The only downside to using aftermarket wireless charging adapters is that generally speaking, they are quite slow and typically cap out at around 5W. This is slower than some other wireless tech we’ve seen in other phones, but at least you now have the convenience and option of being able to charge your phone wirelessly.
Here are some options that will work with your OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite:
- Nillkin Magic Tag USB C Qi Wireless Charger Receiver Chip
- MyMAX – Type C 1300mA Magic Tag Super-Fast Qi Wireless Charging Receiver and Adapter
- Yking Qi Receiver Type C
- Olixar Wireless Charging Adapter for USB-C Smartphones

Now that you’ve gotten a wireless charging adapter, you will need a wireless charging mat to charge your phone on. If you’re new to wireless charging and don’t already have one lying around at home or the office, then these are some charging mats you might be interested in checking out:
