The Samsung Galaxy S23 is Samsung’s latest and most powerful smartphone to date, and as such, we expect that the company is focusing a bulk of its resources maintaining it for their customers.
That being said, if you haven’t upgraded to the Galaxy S23 and are still holding onto the Galaxy S21, which is still a fantastic Android phone by the way, then you might be pleased to learn that Samsung has pushed out a camera update via the Expert RAW app that will allow Galaxy S21 users to shoot astrophotography images.
Astrophotography was initially introduced in the Galaxy S22 and has also found its way onto the Galaxy S23, but with this update, Galaxy S21 owners will now have a new camera tool to play with on their phones. This will apply to the entire Galaxy S21 lineup which includes the base Galaxy S21 model, the Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
For those unfamiliar with the feature, basically what it does is that it allows users to capture images using really long exposures. As a result of the long exposure, users will be able to take images of the night sky and even things like the stars and constellations. Of course, the quality of these images will depend on how clear the sky is, so if it’s particularly cloudy or heavily polluted, the results might not be ideal, but hey, at least the option is there.
