If you’re living in the US and you’re looking for a phone with flagship specs and performance, chances are you could be turning to a handful of brands like Samsung, Google, or OnePlus, just to name a few. But if you’re looking for alternatives, then you might be interested to learn that Motorola has announced that the Edge Plus (2023) will be making its way stateside.
This is a phone that you should probably seriously consider if your budget is not particularly high. This is because the handset is priced (unlocked) at $799 for the base model which comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. This makes it a much more affordable alternative to brands like Samsung and Google.
In terms of its specs, it’s more or less what you might expect from a flagship. We’re talking about a massive 6.67-inch display with a refresh rate of 165Hz, which already puts it ahead of its competitors like the Samsung Galaxy S23 and the Google Pixel 7. Under the hood, it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which means that in terms of performance, you should expect similar-ish results as other flagships that have launched this year.
On the camera side of things, the back of the phone packs a triple camera setup that consists of a 50MP f/1.8 main shooter with a 1/1.155-inch sensor equipped with OIS, a 12MP f/1.6 portrait camera, and a 50MP f/2.2 1/2.76-inch ultrawide camera with macro capabilities.
The phone also comes with a 5,100mAh battery with support for 68W wired charging, 15W wireless, and 5W reverse wireless charging. In terms of availability, it will be sold through carriers such as Boost Infinite and Consumer Cellular, but will also be available unlocked from Amazon and Best Buy.
