Last year, Honor took the wraps off their latest foldable smartphone in the form of the Honor Magic Vs. The handset was initially only available in China, but at MWC 2023, Honor has confirmed that they will be launching the handset in global markets soon, so if you liked what you saw, you should be able to get your hands on it soon enough.
For those who might be learning about this for the first time, the Magic Vs is the latest foldable phone from Honor and it sports a brand new hinge design. With this hinge design, it allows the phone to fold up tighter without any gaps, unlike some other competing foldable phones where the hinge creates a bit of a gap.
While it might not be a big deal, ultimately this change in hinge design results in a phone that is thinner, with Honor claiming that it measures a mere 12.9mm when folded shut.
As for the rest of its specs, the handset will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. This isn’t the Gen 2 that will be featured in flagship phones launching in 2023, but it is still an extremely capable and powerful chipset. It will also be available in 8GB or 12GB RAM variants, and will go up to 512GB in storage.
There is a 6.45-inch display on the outside, and the inner display when unfolded expands to 7.9-inches, a good size for surfing the web, doing some reading, or watching videos. The Honor Magic Vs also comes with a triple camera setup on the back with a 54MP main shooter, a 50MP ultrawide, and an 8MP 3x optical zoom camera. In China, the Magic Vs is priced at around $1,050, but we’re not sure how much it will cost when it makes its way stateside.
