CAPCOM’s Mega Man X Makes its Way to Android

0

Fans of CAPCOM’s Blue Bomber – and retro games in general – might be thrilled to know that Mega Man X has finally been ported to Android. The game (which was originally launched back on the SNES) is now available for purchase on the Google Play Store, with a one-time pricing fee.

Mega Man X features side-scrolling action similar to the original Mega Man games, although it features edgier character designs and a more “serious” storyline in comparison to the original series. It has since spawned several sequels and spin-offs released on various consoles and gaming systems, including the Mega Man Zero and Mega Man ZX games on Nintendo handhelds.

With that said, it looks like the Android port is the same as the mobile version launched for iOS devices a while back, although CAPCOM says that it has added full screen support for the game on Android. There’s also an obvious difference in terms of graphics versus the original Super Nintendo version, although in the grander scheme of things this is a nice way to bring older titles to newer devices. Additionally, the game features touchscreen controls, but there’s no mention of compatibility with wireless bluetooth controllers and gamepads.
