Xiaomi’s POCO brand is five years old now – originally a sub-brand with a single device in its roster, POCO has since released a ton of different devices for different price categories, and as far as affordable performance-oriented phones are concerned, its newest POCO X5-series devices are some of the best that we’ve seen from the Chinese brand.

More specifically, there are two new devices – the POCO X5 Pro 5G and POCO X5 5G. The X5 Pro 5G’s focuses on upgraded camera functions, faster processing speeds, and an incredible display, while its “non-pro” sibling nonetheless is aimed at giving users good display quality, performance, and a long-lasting battery, which are what users usually look for when on the hunt for a well-rounded midrange phone. According to Angus Ng, Head of Product Marketing at POCO Global:

“Designed for content creators to take things to the next level, we believe the POCO X5 Pro 5G is nothing short of the best smartphone in the $300 segment. With a superb screen and performance, the POCO X5 5G also delivers amazing value and the best possible user experience for a smartphone under $200.”

In terms of hardware, the POCO X5 Pro 5G features what POCO calls a 6.67-inch “Flow” AMOLED screen, which features a flexible display (for a slimmer design) and a 120Hz refresh rate. There’s also Dolby Vision onboard for improved viewing experiences. Inside the phone is a Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset, a mid-range chip with an extra emphasis on improved photographic capabilities. This is paired with a 108MP main sensor, with support for 4K video recording. There’s also a 5000mAh battery onboard that’s compatible with 67W turbo charging, and POCO says that a 7-minute charge can replenish up to 30% battery.

Meanwhile, the POCO X5 5G features a 6.67-inch AMOLED DotDisplay and a 120Hz refresh rate as well. The phone also comes with a midrange chip in the form of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 chipset, with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. POCO adds that it features dynamic RAM technology for better performance with multiple background apps. There’s also a 5000 mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging, which can fully charge your battery in about 68 minutes.

The POCO X5 Pro 5G will come in three colors which include Black, Blue, and Yellow, and will also be available in two variants: 6GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB. Meanwhile, the POCO X5 5G will come in three colors including Green, Blue, and Black, and will also be available in two variants: 6GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB.
