Fresh off the announcement of its Hoenn Tour event, the team behind the popular Pokemon GO have announced an upcoming event which coincides with Lunar New Year 2023. As per the teaser on the game’s official webpage:
“Trainers, it’s time to celebrate the Lunar New Year in Pokémon GO! Pokémon like Bunnelby and Buneary will appear more frequently in the wild, and Trainers can look forward to other event-themed Pokémon appearing in the wild, in raids, and hatching from Eggs!
It looks like all Trainers’ luck will also improve during the event—you’ll have an increased chance of encountering Shiny Darumaka, an increased chance to receive Lucky Pokémon in trades, and an increased chance to become Lucky Friends!”
The event is scheduled from Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, to January 23, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Players will have access to branching Timed Research that revolve around either hatching Eggs, the duration of Daily Adventure Incense, or collecting Stardust. Players who complete the research will receive a Lucky Egg and other items, as well as the opportunity to encounter the Pokemon including Combusken, Azumarill, Darumaka, and Bunnelby, to name a few.
There’s been no shortage of Pokemon GO events since the advent of 2023, with one of the most recent ones being the Las Vegas Hoenn tour, which is shaping up to be one of the game’s biggest events this year.
