If you’re a fan of Samsung’s smartphones but never liked the fact that for your region, your phones were powered by Exynos chipsets, then you’re in for a surprise. According to a report from 9to5Google, it seems that for the Galaxy S23 series, they will all be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.

The report goes on to claim that apparently Samsung has been working on a specialized version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 that is overclocked for the Galaxy S23 series that would allow it to be more powerful.

It should also be noted that there have been rumors claiming that Samsung has created a new team within the company that is working on developing a Galaxy-specific chipset. This would be different from its Exynos lineup which while mostly used by Samsung, has also been sold to other companies.

A more recent report also claims that Samsung could share more details about their chipset plans next month at an event where the company will unveil the Galaxy S23 series. It will be interesting to see how these chipsets fare and whether or not it will make up for all the bad rep that the Exynos chipsets have been getting over the years.
