One UI 5.0 Makes its Way to Galaxy Tab S6 Lite

While Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a few years old now (save for the refreshed 2022 version), the company has nevertheless remained consistent in providing updated software patches for its popular mid-range tablet. As such, a new update has finally arrived for European versions of the device, which features the latest Android 13 version and One UI 5.0.

The December 2022 update comes with software version number P619XXU1BVK6, and is now available for users in France, although it should roll out to more regions soon. The new update brings new features via the latest One UI version 5.0, the newest iteration of Samsung’s custom Android skin. Currently, the update is available for devices with model number SM-P619, although owners of other variants should keep an eye out for the update on their respective Tab S6 Lite versions.

Earlier this year, Samsung launched a “refreshed” version of the Tab S6 Lite. Instead of Samsung’s own Exynos chipset, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720G powers the tablet, which should provide a significant difference in performance. While the Exynos version of the tablet wasn’t exactly terrible, it wasn’t particularly fast, especially when compared to similarly-priced tablets from competing brands like Apple, for example. In terms of display size, design, battery, and other specs, there are no changes to the newer variant of the S6 Lite.

To check if your device can download the newest update, simply head into Settings > Software Update > Download and Install to check if your device is eligible for the latest system update.
