OnePlus 11 confirmed to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

0

Earlier this week during the Snapdragon Summit, Qualcomm took the wraps off their next-gen flagship mobile chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This chipset is expected to power most of the flagship Android phones in 2023, and if it wasn’t obvious already, OnePlus has confirmed it anyway.

In a post on Weibo, OnePlus has revealed that for its upcoming OnePlus 11 smartphone, it will be powered by the next-gen Snapdragon chipset from Qualcomm. The company makes an interesting claim of how the phone will be the first to feature the use of the new chipset, but we’re not sure if they mean first out of all the Android phones or first out of the company’s phones planned for 2023.

This is because other companies like Samsung are also most likely going to launch phones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, like its Galaxy S23 lineup, which if the rumors are accurate are slated for an early 2023 launch, so it remains to be seen which manufacturer will be officially launching their device first.

Either way, we should have more details in the coming months seeing as we’re nearly towards the end of 2022, so check back with us later for more updates.
