Sony brings Android 13 to the Xperia 1 IV and Xperia 5 IV

0

Sony’s presence in the smartphone market these days is quite small. The company does put out some phones every now and then but otherwise, they have been kind of quiet. For fans of the Xperia series who might be concerned that their devices might have been forgotten, you can rest assured that they haven’t.

This is according to a tweet by the Sony Xperia Twitter account where the company has announced that Android 13 will be making its way to the Sony Xperia 1 IV and Xperia 5 IV smartphones. We’re not sure when exactly the update will be rolling out, but judging by the tweet, it should be right now or pretty soon.

Sony does not detail the changes that they will be making in the update, but at the very least we can expect to see all the Android 13 goodies that Google introduced earlier this year, along with some possible implementations of Sony’s own making to some of the phone’s software features.

As expected, this rollout will most likely be done in stages/phases from region to region, so if you don’t see the update prompt for you yet, don’t worry as it should eventually find its way onto your handset.
