Some might wonder, with our computers being able to do so much these days, is there really a point to owning a TV? If you enjoy the communal aspect of being able to watch TVs and movies with friends and family members in the same room, or play video games with your kids or friends, then yes, a TV is kind of an essential piece of furniture.

Now, if you happen to be lucky enough to have a house that has enough space for a massive TV, then you might want to take a look at what TCL has to offer. The company has announced the latest model in their 6-Series in the form of an 85-inch smart TV that uses a mini LED panel with QLED color technology and a variable refresh rate of 120Hz.

According to TCL, the TV features mini LED backlighting with 448 Contrast Control Zones that helps to optimize the image across the display. It is also powered by the AiPQ Engine that uses machine learning algorithms to best adjust the color, contrast, and clarity on the screen to deliver the most optimized viewing experience.

There are also other pieces of display technology under the hood, like the HDR Pro Pack with Dolby Vision that uses the TV’s ambient light sensor to adjust the brightness based on how bright or dim your room is. There is also support for HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG. There is also Dolby Atmos support built into it to help deliver the best sound possible.

TCL has also not forgotten about gamers. The company has brought its Game Studio Pro tech to the TV along with a 120Hz variable refresh rate that keeps your games looking buttery smooth. It also supports AMD’s FreeSync Premium. The TV itself is powered by Roku TV so if you’ve ever owned a Roku set-top box before, you should be able to expect similar functionality.

If you’re keen on picking this TV up, the 85” TCL 6-Series TV (85R655) will be available exclusively from Best Buy where it is priced at $1,999.99.
