ASUS launches its first ever laptop with a foldable display

Seeing laptops announced at IFA is nothing new, but ASUS might have very well stolen the show with their latest laptop, the ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold OLED. As you can tell from the name and the photo, this is a laptop that comes with a foldable display on the inside.

Foldable displays are more commonly found in smartphones, but it seems that ASUS has opted to launch a foldable laptop instead. It features a massive 17.3-inch OLED foldable display which can be used in multiple orientations.

For example, you can use it like a giant tablet, or you can also use it in a traditional laptop setup with an onscreen keyboard, or you can use it with a magnetically attached physical keyboard for a more traditional laptop experience, although using it this way effectively turns the device into a 12.5-inch laptop.

Under the hood, an Intel i7-1250U processor can be found accompanied  by 16GB of RAM, an Intel Iris XE GPU, and a 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD. It will also come with Windows 11 preinstalled by default. There are also a bunch of ports like USB-C, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a 75Whr 4-cell battery that ASUS claims is good for about 9.5 hours.

ASUS is expected to launch the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED in the later part of the year where it will be priced starting at $3,499.
