One of the selling points of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series is that it’s a smartphone that can transform into a tablet, thus saving users the trouble of owning and carrying around two different devices at the same time.

But it looks like Samsung’s next foldable could be aimed at tablet users. This is according to a report from Naver in which they claim that the next Samsung foldable could actually come in the form of a tablet.

This is actually rather interesting although we’re not sure how this will work just yet. Could it be that this is a smaller tablet that can unfold to become a bigger one? Or is it a regular sized tablet that can be unfolded into an even bigger tablet? The latter would actually be more interesting since a smaller tablet becoming a larger tablet is kind of what Samsung is going for with the Galaxy Z Fold series.

As to when this device will be announced, it is unclear. Samsung usually announces devices in the early and later part of the year, but it has been suggested that this will most likely take place in 2023, which means we’re looking at a potential launch date of January or February 2023.

Samsung will be announcing its new foldable phones – the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 – later this week. Both phones are also open for reservation and customers who go ahead and register now can get $200 in Samsung Credit, so think of it like a discount of sorts.
