Nokia 5.4 Receives Android 12 Update

0

Under its revival with HMD Global, Nokia pledged to provide Android users with regular software updates for its smartphones, through Google’s “Android One” program. It’s been quite some time now since Android One’s initial fanfare, although Nokia is still pushing updates for many of its phones. With that said, owners of the Nokia 5.4 can now upgrade to the latest Android 12 version.

The new update has been spotted by the folks over at Nokiamob, and is expected to arrive for users in regions where Nokia has sold the 5.4, which includes Austra, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary Iceland, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, and Latvia.

Launched back in Christmas of 2020, the Nokia 5.4 featured a 6.39 IPS display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 662 chipset, and a quad-camera set-up with a 48-megapixel main camera. The phone was one of the last Nokia devices to feature the company’s old number-based naming scheme, before moving to its “G” and “X” branding, as seen on newer phones like the G21 and XR20.

To check if your phone can download the newest update, the fastest way is to head into your “Settings” app, and type “System Update” in the search box to check for update availability.
