A while back, we mentioned that Samsung might soon formally announce its much-anticipated One UI 5.0 beta for its smartphones. We seem to be getting closer and closer to the actual reveal date, although the company has taken an interesting approach to its beta release.
With that said, the South Korean tech giant recently announced its “One UI Value Up Challenge” program, which will be available for select beta testers. The program will arrive with the One UI 5.0 Beta once it becomes released. However, it’s not yet clear how the program will differ from the “standard” One UI 5.0 Beta, at least in terms of release, features, and such. It’s mentioned that the program will be accessible to select users on the Samsung Members and Community platforms.
At the moment, the current One UI version is at 4.1, which has been made available for several Samsung handsets alongside the latest Android 12 through OTA software updates. One UI 4.1 comes with several fixes for security and stability issues, as well as new Samsung-exclusive customizations, software features and apps, and theme options based on Android 12’s “Material You” design language.
As such, Samsung fans and Galaxy device owners looking forward to the upcoming Beta firmware will have to do a bit of waiting once the Beta goes live.
