Following the announcement of the new ASUS ROG Phone 6, It seems that ASUS is gearing up to launch the next handset in its Zenfone series, the Zenfone 9. While the company still hasn’t officially announced the upcoming phone, a promotional video has seemingly leaked online and shows the phone’s external design, as well as some key internal hardware components.
Based on the leaked video, the ASUS Zenfone 9 will feature a rather compact 5.9-inch Samsung AMOLED display, complete with a 120HZ refresh rate. This is wrapped inside a chassis which will come with IP68 certification, and will be available in four different color variants. The rear panel of the phone also houses a pretty large dual-camera set-up, which will feature a Sony IMX766 sensor with an added gimbal for video stabilization.
The phone runs on the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, and will be powered by a 4,300 mAh battery. Other hardware features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor with “ZenTouch Functionality,” as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.
We should expect to see more hardware features revealed once ASUS finally makes the phone official, but at the moment, the mention of the new Snapdragon chip as well as the impressive-looking display are very promising. Given the right pricing, the phone could be another value-for-money device once it launches.
