WhatsApp expands chat history migration to more beta testers

0

For the longest time ever, migrating your WhatsApp chat history from iOS to Android and vice versa was not possible without the help of third-party software. WhatsApp has been slowly but surely remedying this issue, where last month, Meta announced that the feature would be opening up to more users.

Unfortunately, despite the announcement, it appeared to be A/B testing meaning that some users had access to the feature, while others didn’t, but the good news is that it looks like WhatsApp is pushing out that ability to more beta testers, according to a recent report from WABetaInfo.

The report claims that in the latest version of the WhatsApp beta, more users will now be able to transfer their chat history from their Android devices to iOS devices. The only way to tell if this feature is available is if you download the Move to iOS app from the Play Store and ensure that all your devices are connected to power and are on the same WiFi network.

When you launch the Move to iOS app and see WhatsApp as one of the options, it means that the feature is available to you. If you don’t see it, it means that the feature is not available to you at the moment, but we imagine that it’s only a matter of time before it will be available to more users, so don’t fret too much yet.
