Mario Kart Tour Might be Headed to PC

0

Nintendo’s Mario Kart series has been one of the company’s most successful franchises, spawning several titles across several generations of consoles, handhelds, and even mobile devices, in the form of its “Mario Kart Tour” spin-off. While the series has never made its way to PC (at least, officially), new rumors suggest that the spin-off title might soon head over to desktop devices.

A report from Nintendo Life highlights that datamined information from the game’s latest update points to code that references possible “native emulation,” alongside added mouse support. Based on this, it almost seems likely that Nintendo might release a Mario Kart Tour PC Port. It could also mean that the game might even be included in the Google Play Games PC program, which is aimed at making certain mobile games available for desktops, laptops, and such.

Of course, all of this is speculation at this point, and unless Nintendo makes an official announcement (or a leaker somehow gets hold of more specific info), Mario Kart Tour fans will just have to take this possibility with a grain of salt.

Mario Kart Tour is one of several Nintendo mobile games which are available for smart devices, joining several other spin-off titles from franchises like Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, and more.
