When it comes to smart home devices, Xiaomi is definitely no stranger in that field. The company has a variety of smart home gadgets like robot vacuum cleaners, smart lamps, smart bulbs, smart LED strips, and so on. So it doesn’t really come as a surprise to learn that the company has since expanded its smart home offerings with a new smart display.
Dubbed the Xiaomi Smart Display 10, this is a smart display that features a metal frame and a woven mesh fabric covering the speaker. As expected of a smart display, the Smart Display 10 can act as a hub for all of Xiaomi’s other smart home devices, allowing users to access and control it from the screen.
We should point out that you can already do that via the Mi Home app, but this could come in handy if your phone is somewhere else. There is a built-in 5MP front-facing camera which lets you make video calls if you want to, plus there is a dedicated security chip, Xiaomi’s own digital assistant, and more.
The display on the device is 10-inches and only offers up a HD resolution which is kind of disappointing, but to be fair, most smart displays weren’t designed to replace our phones, TVs, or tablets, so a HD resolution should be more than sufficient for most needs.
Now the bad news is that for now, the Xiaomi Smart Display 10 is only available in China where it is priced at roughly around $147. We’re not sure if there are plans to bring it to international markets, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
