Here’s everything that’s coming in Google’s System Update for March

Right on cue, the Google System Update for March 2022 has started rolling out to devices. These updates are just slightly different from the monthly security patches, as they arrive for all Android users and not just Pixel owners. Instead, of arriving through your System Updates panel in the Settings app, they will be made available through an update to Google Play Services.

For March, it seems that there are a lot of things going into the Play Store, as Google is adding new features to make it easier to find new apps and games to download. Speaking of games, Google’s “Play-as-you-download” feature is also being optimized and improved to reduce the amount of time that you have to wait.

All of the fixes and changes are available for users running v22.09 of Play Services, and v29.5 of the Google Play Store. The update is rolling out now and should already be arriving on your devices. If you’re interested in the full-changelog, Google has provided a summary of the updates:

  • Updates to system management services that improve device connectivity, network usage, stability, security and updatability.

Developer Services
