Realme has become one of the top 5 best-selling brands in various global markets

0

When you look at Realme, the company has already had an interesting life. It began in 2010 as one of the numerous sub-brands operating under Oppo, but then in 2018, Realme was able “spread its wings” as it began operating as an independent company. Since, then Realme phones have taken the world by storm, bringing similar offerings and experiences from what we were used to when it came to OnePlus phones.

It seems that the team at Realme is on the right track, as a new report from Canalys states that Realme is now recognized as a “top 5 smartphone brand in 30 global markets.” According to data provided by Canalys, Realme is the number one brand in the Philippines and Bangladesh while cracking the top five rankings in many other countries including Germany.

What’s even more incredible is the amount of growth that Realme has experienced, especially compared to the competition. With Huawei, LG, and even OnePlus out of the way, Realme has seized the opportunity to capture the market in Western Europe. As you can see in the chart above, Realme has experienced an incredible 1,365% annual growth, despite only holding 4% of the market share. With Apple and Samsung firmly planted in the top two slots, Xiaomi comes in at #3 with a 13% market share, with Oppo and Realme rounding out the rest of the list.

It’s interesting to see that while Apple and Samsung swapped spots in Q4, these two companies suffered staggering market loss, as Apple lost 23% while Samsung lost 16%. This has opened the door for Realme to experience its incredible growth, but it also goes to show that Realme is making the right moves to become a true competitor in the smartphone space.

This is evidenced by a statement provided by Sky Li, Founder and CEO of Realme:

“The company has been laser focused on providing best performance in segment to customers worldwide with leading tech innovations, which has started to pay off. In 2021, our annual smartphone sales volume reached a record high of 60 million, a 50% increase over the previous year. In 2022, we will continue to deliver new and exciting products to our fans globally.”

We’re not sure what kind of magic is happening at Realme, but we’re excited to see what’s to come in the future and whether the company can sustain this kind of growth.
