Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 coming soon with slimmer bezels and more

0

If you’re in the market for a great budget-friendly Android tablet, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A-series have always been a solid choice. These offer a no-frills experience, making it easy and cheap to get an Android tablet without needing to break the bank or go with something unfamiliar. Samsung has just announced its new Galaxy Tab A8, bringing with it a familiar design thanks to slimmer bezels around the 10.5-inch display.

Powered by an octa-core processor and up to 4GB of RAM, this entry-level tablet should be more than capable of handling almost anything that you would need. There are three different storage options available ranging from 32GB and going up to 128GB. And if you’re worried that the low-end might not be enough, there’s still a microSD card slot available allowing you to add up to 1TB of extra storage.

  • Display: 10.5-inch (1920 x 1200)
  • Processor: Octa-core, 2GHz
  • RAM: 3GB / 4GB
  • Storage: 32GB / 64GB / 128GB
  • Front Camera: 5MP
  • Rear Camera: 8MP w/ AutoFocus
  • Battery: 7,040mAh
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi / LTE
  • Colors: Gray, Silver, Pink Gold
  • Software: Android 11 w/ One UI
  • Extras: microSD Card Slot (Up to 1TB) / 3.5mm Headphone jack / 15W Adaptive Fast Charging

Since some folks still like to use cameras on their tablets, you’re in luck, but don’t expect much. There’s a 5MP selfie camera embedded in the bezel along with an 8MP lens on the back complete with auto-focus capabilities. And if you thought it was nifty that Samsung is keeping the microSD card slot around, you’ll be ecstatic when you see that the Tab A8 still features a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Other features of Samsung’s new budget-friendly tablet include a 7,040mAh battery complete with 15W Adaptive Fast Charging capabilities. We would have liked to see charging a little bit faster, but hopefully, that will come in the rumored Galaxy Tab S8 lineup. The Tab A8 will be available in Europe sometime in late December before landing here in the U.S. sometime in January. Pricing was not immediately made available, but we do know that Samsung is offering its latest tablet in Gray, Silver, or Pink Gold.
