Xiaomi continues to tease Mi Mix 4 and Mi Pad 5 ahead of tomorrow’s event

0

This is going to be one busy week. Tomorrow, Xiaomi is hosting its latest event where the company will be showing off the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 and Mi Pad 5. Over the past week or so, Xiaomi has been teasing the upcoming devices and has shared even more promo images ahead of tomorrow’s event.

As for the Mi Pad 5, Xiaomi will be bringing external keyboard support, along with making it compatible with a stylus. We’re expecting the company to introduce a new stylus alongside any other accessories, likely with a bunch of nifty capabilities to get the most out of the tablet/stylus combination.

Over the weekend, the Mi Pad also appeared on Geekbench, showing off the device’s model number and confirming that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset. In addition to the SD870, Xiaomi will be including at least one configuration with GB of RAM as evidenced by the Geekbench listings. Other rumors for the Mi Pad 5 point to an 11-inch IPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate and QHD+ resolution.

In addition to everything surrounding the Mi Pad 5, two new video teasers have also popped up on YouTube, giving everyone an idea of what the Mi Mix 4 will look like. Both of these videos point to a “disappearing” selfie camera, giving the Mi Mix 4 a full display sans any camera cutouts. As the camera zooms further out, it reveals an outline of the supposed Mi Mix 4, while completely showing what’s “underneath” to signify the full-screen display.

Along with the seamless display, the Mi Mix 4 is expected to launch with the Snapdragon 888+ SoC. It’s likely to feature a design similar to that of the Mi 11 Ultra, minus the rear-facing display on the camera hump. But rumors and leaks also point to a 108MP main camera, along with a periscope sensor and ultra-wide camera.

Xiaomi’s event is set to kick off at 13:30 GMT or 9:30 EDT tomorrow. This is going to be an exciting launch, especially because Xiaomi is going to try and steal away some headlines ahead of Samsung’s Unpacked event on Wednesday.
