Nothing Ear (1) earbuds are like nothing that you’ve ever seen before, coming August 17

The day has finally arrived. Nothing has formally introduced its first product in the Nothing Ear (1) earbuds. These new truly wireless earbuds promise up to 34 hours of battery life, sport IPX4 water resistance, and a unique design that stands apart from the crowd.

These might have been some of the most-hyped headphones to be released in recent memory, in no small part thanks to Carl Pei being at the helm. Ever since Pei left the OnePlus team, there were a slew of questions surrounding what this Nothing company would be introducing. It’s clear from Pei’s vision that the Ear (1) earbuds are just the beginning, as we are expecting to see more consumer-grade products from Nothing in the future.

Looking at the Nothing Ear (1) earbuds, and you immediately can see how these stand out from the rest of the wireless headphones. The transparent design shows off different aspects of the earbuds, along with the included charging case. On the outside of each stem, you’ll be able to see the various components, along with the Nothing branding.

From a spec-perspective, the earbuds feature 11.6mm drivers and “Pure Sound” tuning from Teenage Engineering to provide fantastic sound quality. Additionally, we’ll have active noise cancellation to get rid of any sounds around you, making use of a trio of high-definition microphones in each earbud.

In terms of battery life, Nothing promises that the Ear (1) will provide up to 34 hours of battery life, including the charging case. Each earbud is rated for a little more than 5.5 hours of listening time on a single charge. Charging methods include both wired and wireless charging, but Nothing states that a 10-minute charge will net users up to eight hours of battery life.

Other features of the Nothing Ear (1) include Fast Pair support, in-ear detection, along with gesture control customization and Find My Earbud. The last two features are made possible by the new ear (1) app that is free to download from the Google Play Store.

Pricing for the Nothing Ear (1) earbuds come in at $99 / £99 / €99 / ₹5,999. The company will make a select number available on July 31st, but these will officially go on sale starting on August 17th.
