While much of the focus surrounding Samsung’s Unpacked event has to do with the two rumored foldable phones, some rumors suggested that the Galaxy S21 FE could make its debut. However, a new report claims that the Galaxy S21 FE will not be making an appearance at the Unpacked event.
According to LetsGoDigital, the report claims that it has “seen official documentation from Samsung stating that the Galaxy S21 FE will not be introduced during the Galaxy Unpacked event.” Instead, it seems that Samsung will be holding off on the release of the S21 FE until sometime in Q4 2021. Whether that means we could see a holiday release or even later remains to be seen. It also wouldn’t come as a shock to see the S21 FE launched around the same time as the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, which could be released in October.
After seeing the success of the Galaxy S20 FE, it’s a bit surprising to see the S21 FE pushed further back. The phone is expected to retain many of the features offered by the Galaxy S21, with a few differences to bring the price lower. A leaked regulatory listing a few weeks ago provided a clear look at what we can expect:
- Display: 6.4-inch AMOLED
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 888
- RAM: 8GB
- Storage: 128GB / 256GB
- MicroSD Card: Yes, up to 256GB
- Front Camera: 12MP
- Rear Cameras: 32MP (wide), 12MP (ultrawide), 8MP (telephoto)
- Battery: 4,370mAh
- Extras: 5G, Dual-SIM support, ultrasonic fingerprint scanner
Along with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3, Samsung is expected to introduce its new Galaxy Watch 4 lineup, along with the Galaxy Buds 2. Samsung Unpacked is currently scheduled for August 11th, and will be broadcast via YouTube for the world to see.
