Samsung rumored to hold its next Unpacked event on August 11

0

The hits just keep on coming for Samsung, as we have a pretty good idea of what devices and accessories will be arriving in the 2nd-half of the year. Last week, the company confirmed that an upcoming Samsung Unpacked event would be where the next wave of Samsung wearables would be unveiled. But Samsung didn’t provide a date or time as to when the event would be held. Now a report out of Korea (via 9to5Google) claims that Samsung has confirmed that it will be on August 11th.

Just like other Unpacked events, this one will be live-streamed on YouTube, allowing the whole world to tune in. Presumably, the stream will also be available through Samsung’s own website, albeit with an embedded YouTube URL. The event is said to begin at 10 a.m. ET, and considering just how many devices were expecting, don’t be surprised if it ends up being a long event.

The report also seems to confirm what products will be showcased at the event:

What we still don’t know is when any of these upcoming products will actually hit the store shelves. The non-smartphone items could be available for pre-order as soon as the event has concluded. Meanwhile the smartphones would be made available the next week for pre-order before being released before the end of the month.

Given all of the different leaked renders that we’ve been seeing, some of which that look pretty legitimate, it’s a surprise that Samsung is still holding off on making any announcements. Perhaps the company is in the final stretch ahead of announcing the event and is just holding off until the first wave of stocking levels is complete.
